Help me map a smooth onboarding for new customers or clients.

My business: [WHAT YOU DO]
What they just signed up for: [PRODUCT / SERVICE / PACKAGE]
What a great start looks like for them: [WHAT THEY SHOULD FEEL AND ACHIEVE EARLY]
What I need from them to begin: [INFO, ACCESS, PAYMENT, A BOOKING]
What usually causes confusion or drop-off early: [IF ANYTHING]
How I communicate: [EMAIL / PORTAL / TEXT / CALLS]

Map out:
1. The step-by-step journey from "just said yes" to "successfully up and running"
2. At each step: what happens, what I send or do, and what I need from them
3. The key messages to send and roughly when (welcome, what's next, check-in)
4. Where new customers commonly get stuck or go quiet, and how to prevent it
5. A simple milestone that tells me onboarding actually worked
6. What I can template or automate vs. what should stay personal

Keep it realistic for a small business to run. Don't over-engineer it into 20 steps if 5 will do. Mark [CONFIRM] where you assumed something about my process. For anything sensitive like passwords or access, note that it should be shared securely, not in plain email.

Example scenario

A web designer could use this to map the first two weeks with a new client so nothing gets missed and the client feels looked after.
